Deluxe mac and cheese

This is my favorite mac and cheese recipe ! This recipe comes from my taste of home best church supper cookbook !
2 cups small curd cottage cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 egg lightly beaten
3/4 tsp salt
garlic salt and pepper to taste
2 cups shredded sharp cheese
1 7oz pkg elbow macaroni cooked and drained according to pkg directions
In a lg bowl combine cottage cheese,sour cream,egg,salt,garlic salt and pepper. Add cheese mix well. Add macaroni and still until coated.Transfer to a 2 1/2 quart baking dish that is greased.Bake uncovered for 30 mins or until heated through. sprinkle with paprika if desired *** I always add a little more sour cream than it calls for and extra cheese on the top and it turns out great !
