This is one of my favorite soups!
2 tbls butter
4 green onions diced
2 tbls flour
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 tsp dry mustard
1 c milk ( 2 % works best)
1 can 10 1/2 oz chicken broth
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Melt butter in a sauce pan over medium heat.Stir in pepper,salt and dry mustard. Slowly add chicken broth and milk. Heat to a boil over medium heat.Stirring constantly boil for 1 min.Stir in cheese over low heat until cheese is melted. Top with green onions. Diced ham or other veggies can be added if desired
