I stumbled upon this recipe when i was reading a paula deen christmas cook book my brother had. I know that it is to late now to make as a christmas gift for people but it is on my list to make next christmas. Or you can just make this anytime for a go to snack ! Just store in an air tight container. This has a mild flavor so dont let the zesty title scare you away.
2 (9 ounce) packages oyster crackers
1 (1 pound) package cheese-flavored fish shaped
crackers
1 (1 pound) package miniature pretzel twists
1 cup butter, melted
2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
1 teaspoon dried dill
1 teaspoon ground red pepper
1 (1 ounce) package dry ranch dressing mix
Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
In a LARGE roasting pan, combine crackers and pretzels.
In a small bowl, combine melted butter, lemon pepper seasoning, dill, ground red pepper, and ranch dressing mix.
Pour over cracker mixture, tossing gently to coat.
Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven, and cool completely.Store mixture in air tight container for up to 2 weeks.

Amazing tub/shower cleaner
Even though this is not a food recipe I wanted to share it with you. It works great on cleaning soap scum from the tub/shower and also bathroom sinks.
1 lg empty spray bottle - I got mine from the dollar store
1/2 cup regular dawn dish soap - It has to be the blue original cuz the others dont work as well
jug of white vinegar - I also got this at the dollar store
In the spray bottle put 1/2 cup of dawn dish soap and fill the rest of the bottle with vinegar. Shake well . I let it sit on my tub/shower for about 5 minutes before i scrub it with a scouring pad. Rinse tub well .

Containers
When you are doing freezer cooking there are several containers you can use. Here are some of the options.
1- Ziploc freezer bags are probably the easiest to use and fairly inexpensive
2- Freezer containers with lids can be purchased as well. I know walmart sells all shapes and sizes.
3- Glass baking dishes can be used as well .But you can't take these from freezer to oven. They need to be defrosted first.
Make sure you also have some masking tape and a permanent marker so you can label your meals.

Freezer Cooking
I am going to be trying out a new way of cooking ! It is called freezer cooking. This is where you spend a day making a bunch of different meals that can be frozen and used another day. There are plenty of days where we are busy and i don't have a lot of time to cook. So i think this would be the perfect time to pull out an already prepared meal that just needs thrown in the oven. Plus this may be good for all you mom's out there that work outside the home and don't want to come home to spend all night in the kitchen. Another thing you could do is get a group of friends together and split the grocery costs and do a day of freezer cooking. I will be posting some freezer cooking recipes soon !
Welcome
I have decided to start a new blog for all my recipes and kitchen tips. I never really cared about cooking until about 4 years ago when i became a wife. I wasn't very good at first but as i practiced my meals got better. Being a busy stay at home mom and wife i don't always have time to spend hours in the kitchen. But i do try to make a tasty and nutritious meal for my family at least 5 times a week. I hope to share all the recipes we love with you and your family.
